  • Descrição: Film adaptation of Peter Weiss' play "The Investigation" (1965), based on personal records, newspaper articles, and transcripts from the first Frankfurt Auschwitz Trial (1963-1965). The film focuses on a judge, a defense attorney, and a prosecutor who, during the trial, encounter 28 witnesses who recount their experiences and observations in Auschwitz. Additionally, eleven former camp administration personnel testify. Throughout the trial, the 18 defendants are directly confronted with the testimonies of the witnesses and are asked to respond to them.
